Costumes or outfits can be found on all islands in Poptropica and can players can wear these costumes to fit in better with the scenery or just to have fun. These costumes can be obtained on quests or simply can be bought on the Poptropica store if you have enough credits.

The costumes usually consist of clothes like dresses, shirt, pants, skirts and some accessories like jewels, hats, scarf, belts and others. You can wear them by clicking the customizer tool. Just select which part you would like to put on. Many other parts of your avatar body which can be changed include hair, eyes, and mouth.
You can customize yourself and can even look like an animated piece of food by wearing a hotdog sandwich or a burger. You can look like a cute animal too like a cuddly cat or a fierce shark. You can have a different personality through these costumes like the nerd costume of Ned Noodlehead of Super Power Island. You can be a soldier, a scientist, a witch or a vampire. You can experience all of these and more in Poptropica.

Moreover, costumes can have special effects or moves. This is particularly true with the premium outfits that can be bought in the Poptropica store. A good example of this is the pop star costume which can make the character sing when you press the space bar. Need more credits to buy the costumes from the store? Poptropica Leprechaun Outfit

The leprechaun outfit in Poptropica is one of the many special seasonal costumes from the store.

If you’re looking for something stylish and different, try to play islands like Red Dragon Island which allows you to have ancient clothing which is called Kimono. The player can get this costume by going to a bonsai shop wherein the lady owner offers you to have it. You can even choose among those and in addition to that, the kimono costume is required to pass through the samurai guards because there is a passport in it. Another costume you can earn on this island is the ninja outfit which you can have when you started the ninja training from the Master Basho.

Another costume provided is the chameleon suit that can be found on the Spy Island when you pass the eye exam to prove you are an agent. When you put this suit on, it allows you to blend on your surrounding or background just by standing still. Super Power Island also provides free super hero costume. You can get it on the Masks and Capes shop where you can mix and match from all of them. One more costume is the Viking suit that can be gained on the Time Tangled Island. You just need to have the glider from Leonardo’s workshop to glide on the Viking Mountain until you land on the ledge. Additional costume is on Mystery Train Island which is the porter’s outfit you can use to pretend like one.

If there are free costumes, there are also selected costumes that are for member’s player only. Poptropica membership offers this variety of costumes for islands like Wild West. A cowboy outfit that makes more interesting with the Marshal’s badge given by the former marshal. Is a pirate lifestyle more your speed? The Skullduggery Pirate Captain may be just what you’re looking for. It has also a special action that can be activated by pressing the spacebar.

Another great costume is the Paper Boy. This costume has a special effect since it can be use to others you see and start to paperize them. Additional unique one is the Medusa hair. Medusa is one of the villains on Mythology Island who turn Hercules into a stone. A really bad snake hair day if you have it!

Some of these clothing are on a limited edition which are also given when there is a Poptropica celebration or giving debut to new islands. Example of it is the Robin Hood outfit that also comes with a special action that is available on some degree of time back in 2009. Another costume in limited edition is the Mech Pilot. This is for the Steamworks Island and it is perfect to wear while driving the Mech robot. Moving to Cryptids Island which has the limited edition for the Cryptids Nessie Hat, which is very hard to get. Just putting this hat, you can catch a glimpse of the elusive Loch Ness Monster.
