D.C. Diner

Have you played the new mini-game D.C. Diner on Poptropica yet? You can play it by going to the main travel map and then clicking on the box next to Mystery Train Island in the middle of the map. You’ll then get to play this new mini-game. In D.C. Diner, you run a small diner in Washington D.C. and many of the people who are traveling on the train to Chicago to go to the World’s Fair will stop in and order a meal. You need to seat them, take their orders and then go get what they want to eat. You also need to clean their dishes when they’re done so that new customers can sit down.

There’s a timer that ticks down and if you run out of time the game is over, so you need to move quickly. The travel time from the table to the order area is long, so sometimes you want to carry more than one customer’s order at a time. When a customer is done with their meal, you’ll get 30 seconds added back on the clock, so it’s really important to get customers everything they want quickly so that they’re done.

There are lots of different things that customers will order, including drinks (coffee, root beer and soda), meals (hamburgers and chicken), and also dessert (pie). Sometimes a customer will order several different items over the course of a meal, and sometimes they’ll just order a few. When they’re done, don’t forget to clean up their plate so the next person can sit down!

After each shift or round, you can earn upgrades, like the hostess who will seat all your customers for you. There are other upgrades too, like a faster cook and a busboy to clear dirty plates. Sometimes you’ll get to serve a famous customer and if you finish the round and you’re a paid member in Poptropica, you’ll get a special prize.
