Poptropica turns four years old this September and they’re throwing a month-long party to celebrate. The party got started a few days early and there are a bunch of different special prizes available. Most are for members only, but all players can get a few free things at the party.
The first free thing is the 4th Birthday Balloon. You can get it by visiting the Poptropica Store in game. This is a nice orange balloon with the number 4 on it. You can carry it around with you wherever you go in Poptropica. It’s just like last year’s balloon but one year older!
The second free thing is the special Poptropica 4th Birthday Costume. This is a crazy costume combination that makes you look like a giant cake with a large #4 candle up on top. It even lights! You also carry around cake slices, and if you press the space bar to activate the costume’s special action, you’ll throw the cake around. It’s great fun wherever you go in the game! Getting the special costume is a little tricky. You need to go into one of the common rooms in Poptropica like the Soda Pop Shop on Early Poptropica or the Coconut Cafe on Shark Tooth Island. When you go inside, you’ll see lots of colored balloons filling the room. Look for a special blue balloon with an orange number 4 on it. If you see it, click the balloon to pop it (all the other balloons will pop too!) and you’ll get the special birthday costume. If you don’t see the balloon in the room, just exit and re-enter to try again. It’s totally random, so you might have to go in and out a lot to see the special balloon.

Members also get a special treat in the month of September. Poptropica is re-releasing several old costumes in the store. Each week, they’ll re-release two outfits that have been retired, so it’s a great way to get some of the old costumes that you might have missed. But you have to be a member to get them!
The first two costumes are the Mech Pilot from Steamworks Island and the Renegade Robot costume.
